All Reading Libraries will be closed after Tuesday 23rd December and will reopen with normal opening hours on Friday 2nd January 2026.

You can still borrow, read and listen to everything via our online library - or do online courses.

No items will be due back during the time we are closed. A Drop Box will be available at Reading Central Library but all other Drop Boxes will be closed.

We wish all our customers a Happy Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2026 - thank you for using the library service.

Following on from the success of this summer’s Reading loves reading campaign which saw nearly 2,400 people take part, Reading Libraries are launching Winter Book Bingo.

There are 2 ways to play:

EASY - complete a line either vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
HARD - complete the card!

Fill in the book details on the reverse of the card and get your card stamped each time you complete a square. You must have at least 3 different date stamps to enter either our Adults/Teens or under 13's prize draw.
