The north side of London Road, Twyford, in 1899. To the left is the side of the King's Arms Hotel, with the name of the landlord, E. Stanley Dax, painted on the wall. Then comes the gateway to the blacksmith's forge of A. W. Brooker, with a sign advertising veterinary medicines also. Next comes the chemist's shop and post office of Mr. Brooker, with a gentleman at the door who is probably Mr. Brooker himself. 1890-1899 : photograph by Llewellyn Treacher, white album p. 17. Glass negative at MERL, P DX 320 PH1/173/90. Glass lantern slide at MERL, P DX 320 PH1/173/65
