The reconstruction of the corner of the Buttermarket and King Street, Reading, in 1978. No. 7a Buttermarket, and Nos. 6 and 7 King Street have been demolished. Facades in the Buttermarket and the Market Place are supported by scaffolding, and there is a tower crane on the site. Barclay's Bank is to the right, at Nos. 3 and 5 King Street. The view is from an upper window across the road, probably from the George Hotel. 1970-1979
