Thumbnail for House named "Gothic Villa" in Queen's Road, Reading, c. 1845. The architect was Henry Briant. Its garden was in the angle of Queen's Road and King's Road, and it was later known as "Penrhyn Lodge." The sign-board of the Borough Arms pub, and the roof of Reading Gaol can be seen behind it. In 1878 it was demolished and rebuilt as No. 17 Craven Road. In 1916 it became the Headmaster's Lodge of Reading School. 1840-1849 : photograph by W. H. Fox Talbot.
