Greyfriars Church, Reading, c. 1813, when it was being used as a prison. The building is roofless, with a wall built across it, in front of which are two sheds. The arcading has been blocked off, with doors between the arches, presumably giving access to the cells. Two characters can be seen by one of the doors. 1810-1819 : print, with the caption, "Interior view of the Friary, now the Town Bridewell, " plate 17 from the book, "The History and Antiquities . . . of the Borough of Reading" by John Man, published in 1816
