Victory parade in Friar Street, Reading, in May, 1945. The Mayor, Aldermen and Town Clerk stand on a dais in front of the statue of Queen Victoria. The contingents from Huntley, Boorne and Stevens, and from Huntley and Palmers, pass St. Laurence's Church. The west window of the church is boarded up, and the entrance to The Arcade across the road is partly demolished as a result of the bombing raid in 1943. 1940-1949 : copy of an older photograph.
