Turner, grocer); No. 33 (Salmon Ltd., tea merchants, with tea-rooms above). The Simeon obelisk, designed by Sir John Soane, is visible, and there is no cabmen's shelter. Various motor-cars are parked around the area, and the horse-drawn covered wagon of Chaplin and Company waits outside Salmon's. 1920-1929 : postcard with caption "Reading Market Place" and numbered 65914, by F.
