The bridge to the timber yard of Baynes and Company crosses the stream in the middle of the picture, and behind it, the water-tower with its pumping-station and chimney, part of the old water-works, and St. Giles's Mill. In Mill Lane can be seen advertising for Appleton, plumber and glazier; No. 61 (Sidney Streek, shopkeeper), and No. 67 (Joseph Hope, undertaker).
