Reva's is haunted by her memories of her dead sister and childhood home. Each year on her sister's birthday she meets her sister's then-boyfriend Vinay for a day, in a friendship that seems to offer each of them a way to come to terms with a past they cannot shake off. Vinay is covering an election story of 'dishousing' on an old bungalow belonging to a Muslim businessman in a Hindu-dominated area of Gandhinagar. But Vinay's investigation takes him beyond the objective lens of a reporter. He gets drawn in and lands in trouble. Reva's is the last dialed number on his phone, and as soon as she gets a call, she leaves her home and goes to him. They seek shelter in the empty, almost ghostly bungalow, with its young Muslim caretakers. The illicit rings true in a home contested and forbidden.
